Sunset Peak & Tian Tan Buddha
Sunset Peak (aka Tai Tung Shan) is the third highest peak in Hong Kong, situated in Lantau Island. The trial to Sunset Peak is quite a tough one and could take up to six hours, so prepare more food and water during your hike up. The main views are to the north with the airport within sight range.
The picture above is a typical photo that a lot of people take as a challenge. It looks very dangerous, but it's an illusion! These people did not risk their lives to this degree just to take a photo for Instagram, don't worry. There is a solid platform underneath where the person is, so it only takes good camera angle to take this photo. You can do it as well!!
Since Sunset Peak is near Tung Tung area, you should definitely check out the Tian Tan Buddha as well. This is one of the must-go places in Hong Kong! When you get to Tung Chung subway station, you can take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car to reach the Buddha. The statue symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and faith.
